How To Do Heather Graham Long Straight Hairstyle

Step 1: Apply Gel Spray to Roots

Hold the gel spray no closer than 3 inches from your hair, and then evenly mist the gel spray into the roots to create a stronger hold style. Gel spray will hold well and will not look wet or weigh the hair down. Using your gel spray in this fashion will create added hold and a longer-lasting style.

Step 2: Apply Mousse

Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.

Step 3: Part to the Left

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror, find the middle of your left eye, and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline, then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even left part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

Step 4: Section Hair

It is always a good idea to work in sections. This will help to make your hair styling quicker, easier to follow, and more orderly. Comb your hair out and place your hair up into four equal sections, two in front and two in back, starting from ear to ear.

Step 5: Use a Large Radial Brush

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with pure bristles as this will not tear or damage the hair.

Step 6: Blow-dry Straight Back

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the nape/back. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends.

Step 7: Blow-dry Straight on the Sides

Using your brush, blow-dry in small sections starting from the sides. Tilting your head forward, place the brush an inch below the roots to hold them taut and aim the dryer above the brush for a few seconds before continuing to the ends. Repeat this step on a new section directly above the dry one.

Step 8: Blow-dry the Crown

To blow-dry the crown/top sections, take a section of hair no bigger than the diameter of the brush and blow-dry the hair placing the brush under the section of hair. With your blow-dryer in front of the brush, follow the brush in an upwards direction at the roots and an outwards position at the ends for volume and softness. Continue until the section is dry.

Step 9: Blow-dry Bangs Forward to the Right

When blow-drying your bangs to the side, section your hair up and clip your hair back to leave only your bangs out. Remember to make sure that your bangs are damp to make blow-drying more effective. Next, take your brush and place it underneath the hair and then blow-dry starting from the roots, adding tension to the hair as you go. Slowly pull your section down to the ends and continue until dry.

Step 10: Wax Hair Down at the Back

Apply some wax to your fingertips and then pull through the ends of your hair in a downward motion to achieve a sculptured look. Pinch clumps of hair in different directions for a messier result.

Step 11: Style Sides Down Using Wax

Using a small amount of wax, work it through the mid-lengths and ends in a downward, pinching motion. For added texture, apply more pinching and more wax.

Step 12: Lift Roots Using Wax

Apply some hard wax to your fingertips and then rub it into your roots while lifting your strands for soft volume.

Step 13: Style Bangs to the Right Using Wax

Apply wax to your fingertips then drag through your bangs, sweeping the hair to the right as you go. Pinching the ends will create soft texture.

Step 14: Apply Hairspray

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arm’s length distance to the top, sides, and back. Take care not to use too much, or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.

Falling Around

Heather chose a relaxed hairstyle that can be worn on most of the events. The style went well with her face shape. Actually, the weight decreases around her chin area making a great hairstyle for all diamond-shaped faces. This haircut adds outline and capacity to the hair.

Traversing the eyebrow and cropping the corner of the eye, it curves out and traverse the cheek line near the top, just below eye level. Here it bends to become one of  many coils which, highlighted opposite to the dim layers in the rear frame of the cheek without touching it. On the left side of the part a long, curly layer reaches out and away from the face, mingling with the side layers as they curve around the ear and sweep in to the corner of the jaw. Long, widening layers of wavy hair continue down both sides, reaching well below the shoulders.

Step 1: Apply Mousse

Step 2: Apply Straightening Balm

Squeeze a small amount of straightening balm into your palms and then rub your hands together before smoothing the product evenly through damp hair.

Step 3: Part to the Right

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror, find the middle of your right eye and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline, and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even right part. A side part is great for longer face shapes because it creates the illusion of width.

Step 4: Use a Large Radial Brush

A large radial brush is usually used on long straight hair types or to smooth out wavy or curly hair textures. When selecting a radial brush, always use one with pure bristles as this will not tear or damage the hair.

Step 5: Blow-dry the Back Under

To blow-dry under, start at the nape/back and place your brush under the section of hair close to the nape. With the dryer held up over the hair, pull the brush from the roots and continue to the mid-lengths, keeping the blow-dryer following over the top. Once you reach the ends, curve them under. Repeat this

Step until the section is completely dry.

Step 6: Blow-dry the Sides Under

To blow-dry the sides, take out a small section of hair from the front and clip the rest of the hair away. Next, place the brush under the section and then pull the brush and hair forward around your face (this curving motion creates body). Place the hair-dryer on top of the brush until you reach the ends and then turn the ends under. Repeat until dry.

Step 7: Apply Smoothing Shine

Apply a very small amount of smoothing shine to the palms of your hands and then run it through the mid-lengths and ends of your hair. Be careful not to add any to the roots or a large amount to any section of the hair as smoothing shine can be very heavy on the hair, weighing it down and making it appear oily.
